Educational Philosophy

My educational experience ranges from flight instructor in the United States Air Force to all of the basic math classes taught in high school, plus AP Calculus.  I have always enjoyed solving problems and helping others solve problems.  Math was something I always understood.  I believe every student can learn math and that I can help them.  Not every student learns the same way, but every student is good at something.  Respect for God is the beginning of wisdom.

Personal

I was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee.  I went to the USAF Academy immediately after high school.  My first assignment was as a navigator of the E3 AWACS at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.  I served three years at the Torrejon Consolidated Command Post in Spain, and deployed to Saudi Arabia for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  I worked for the United States Post Office seven years as a city letter carrier and briefly as an associate supervisor.  I returned to flying the KC-135 Stratotanker in the USAF Reserve at McConnell AFB, Kansas, and then back to active duty following 911.  I transferred to Robins AFB, Georgia, and deployed multiple times to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.  After retiring from active duty in 2007, I began my career as a math teacher at Crawford County High School in 2008.  I am married with no children and live in Centerville, Georgia.  Even though Iā€™m retired from military service, I still support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
