The Flint Energies Foundation awarded $15,000 in grant funding to Crawford County organizations to support student innovation, youth athletics, and enrichment opportunities for underserved children. The funding was distributed among three programs, each receiving $5,000 to strengthen educational experiences and reduce financial barriers for students and families.

Crawford County Middle High School Army JROTC, represented by Tom O’Brien, received a $5,000 grant to expand its growing STEM and robotics initiatives. “Our students are becoming more independent in programming and design, and their engagement continues to grow,” said O’Brien. “The addition of a thermal plastic printer and upgraded drone components will allow us to produce larger projects more efficiently and spark interest among even more students.”

Crawford County High School Cheer was awarded a $5,000 grant to help offset team expenses and ease the financial burden placed on families. Represented by Jacqueline Colbert, the program relies heavily on parental support to cover uniforms, transportation, and meals. “Many of our families are doing everything they can to support their children, and a large number are single parents,” said Colbert. “This grant helps ensure every student can participate without finances standing in the way.”
