Today, we proudly recognized four outstanding CCMHS JROTC cadets for their leadership, courage, and dedication to our school community.
Three cadets—Cadet Captain Gavin Peacock, Cadet Sergeant Trinity Gibson, and Cadet Corporal Zion Rouse—were awarded the “Service Above Self” award for their heroic actions on October 28. When an unexpected power outage caused a cafeteria gate to fall and trap a staff member, these cadets acted instantly and selflessly. Working together, they lifted the gate and ensured the employee’s safety until additional help arrived. Their bravery and teamwork exemplify the highest standards of the Eagle Battalion and CCMHS.
We also congratulate Cadet Corporal Charlie Harvey, our AJROTC Cadet of the Month for November! Charlie continues to demonstrate excellence, commitment, and leadership within the program.
Please join us in celebrating these remarkable students. We are proud of our Eagles! 🦅💜💛

Dear Parents and Guardian:
Today at approximately 10:25 there were five loud noises, resembling gun shots, in close proximity to the school. Out of an abundance of caution the school was placed in a soft, or level 2, lock down. There was never a threat inside of the school, and all movement in the school was stopped as a precaution. At 10:35 the soft lockdown was lifted, and normal operations resumed in the school. The students were secure at all times, and we appreciate our law enforcement partners in ensuring that all students were safe at all times.
Respectfully,
Aaron Randall, Ph.D.

On October 20th and 21st, the BETA club officers attended the Regional BETA club leadership summit. They participated in 2 competitions: Collaboration Connections and Beta Blitz, both of which required the students to demonstrate their communication and collaboration skills. The officer team ended up qualifying for nationals! The team also learned about different values of leadership and how to be a better leader for themselves and their communities through seminars from the guest speaker, Kelly Barnes.
